I painted this during my first semester at art school since I lived very close to the beach, and it was inspired by my childhood memories of seeing a face in the ocean, like water personified as a mother. It’s titled “my place” because I tend to imagine myself looking out on this scene whenever I meditate, it really feels like home to me.
